Time: 12.00pm. Address: Ring o’ Bells, BA2 9EE.

The annual morning dance after the night before… Following on from Priston Cricket Club’s Duck Race through the village, we will join with other local Morris sides for something loosely resembling Morris dancing. Soup and rolls will be available in the village hall and the Ring o’ Bells pub will be open. Bemused onlookers and hangovers, assured and welcomed.

Private Event
07/01/13 http://Events Priston Jubilee Morris in Timsbury The Cheshire Home
Time: 8.00pm. Address: BA2 0ES.

Teaching session for local Scouts/Guides
15/01/13 http://Events Priston Jubilee Morris in Timsbury St. Mary’s C of E Primary School
Time: 7.30pm. Address: BA2 0JR.

Occasionally we get asked to come along to local Scout/Guide groups and teach them some of our dance moves and get them performing a dance from scratch. This time we will be with Timsbury Girl Guides at the village school in Timsbury. If you would like to book Priston Jubilee Morris for your club/group, please contact us.

Priston Wassail
19/01/13 http://Events Priston Jubilee Morris in Priston Priston Village Green
Time: 3.00pm. Address: Ring o’ Bells, BA2 9EE.

It’s mid-January, so it must be the annual Priston Wassail! What better way to beat away the winter blues with some Morris dancing on the village green, followed by the traditional apple-tree ceremony in a local orchard. Revel in the warming mulled cider, make offerings of cider-drenched toast to the trees and plug your ears while shotguns are fired. Then return to the village hall to partake of tea and cake while being entertained by our friends Dr Turberville’s Morris, all the way from the deepest darkest depths of Somerset… There’s even talk of a charity raffle where you could win an apple tree of your very own. Come along and join in the fun; it’s all round family entertainment.

Due to the onset of some rather heavy snow, there will be a limited presence of Priston Morris at this event and dancing is unlikely. Dr Turberville’s will no longer be attending, in light of the fact that they have a long way to come and the roads may be blocked or treacherous…

Please take care if you are considering attending and will be travelling from outside of Priston.

Sword dances are performed with snooker-cues, pub bouncers dance the Morris and B-boys flirt with clog girls, while house band The Demon Barbers mix English folk music with hip hop, house, funk and ska and drum and bass along the way. Fast-paced and innovative, the show brings together some of the UK’s top clog, sword and Morris dancers with their counterparts from the worlds of B-boying, popping & krump. Priston Morris will be dancing outside the Colston Hall before the performance begins, alongisde many other local dance teams. See you there!
