| Address: EX6 7NA. Priston Jubilee Morris will be visiting Raddon Hill Clog Morris for their 20th birthday weekend of dance. As is common for these weekends away, there will be many other Morris sides and we will be dancing in various locations around the Teign Valley, including Castle Drogo. If you’re in the area, listen out for the bells and come and say hello. | ||

The second of our Grand Diamond Jubilee Tour dates, this time we’ll be overlooking the beautiful Blagdon Lake while dancing with friends Nonesuch Morris from Bristol. We’re looking forward to it and would love to see you there too. Come and celebrate our 35th year! | ||

The Olympic Torch is due to pass by locally, from Wells, through Shepton Mallet, Frome, Bradford-on-Avon, Bath, Bitton, Longwell Green and then on to Bristol. As Morris dancing appears to have been overlooked as an olympic sport, Priston Jubilee Morris alongside many other Morris sides will be dancing along the torch’s route to celebrate the year of the 2012 Olympics in London and to show them what they’re missing. Come and join the revelries at Bitton Ststion (part of the Avon Valley Railway), as we dance the torch onwards with Somerset Morris. | ||

| Time: 8.00pm. Address: BA15 1LE. The third of our Grand Diamond Jubilee Tour dates, we’re crossing the border into the wild lands of Wiltshire to take the opportunity to dance with friends Hips and Haws Clog from Chippenham. It should be a good night, so come and celebrate our 35th year! | ||
| Bath International Music Festival | ||

| The biggest free show in Bath, Party in the City is the moment when Bath explodes with music! On the first Friday of every Bath International Music Festival, in over 30 venues and with over 2,000 performers, music of every kind – folk, rock, pop, choral, jazz, electronic, orchestral, brass, and more – brings the city alive. Priston Jubilee Morris will be adding to the spectacle this year, by providing street entertainment in the centre of Bath, finishing at the Old Green Tree in Green Street. There’s even a firework display at 10pm! What more could you want from a barmy summer’s evening? | ||

| Time: 7.15pm. It’s not unheard of for people to actually like Morris dancing so much that they need to have some dancers in attendance to help celebrate those memorable or milestone occasions. This is one such event, where we have been invited to help celebrate a 60th birthday party; it should be a lot of fun for all. | Time: 12.00pm. With many of Priston Jubilee Morris hailing from Farmborough, we have been invited to dance following the church service to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. We’ll be performing a dance or two to the crowds of Farmborough before heading off to Priston… With so much going on this weekend, it’s amazing we’re managing to fit it all in! | ||

Just a couple of dances here and then we’ll be hanging our bells and hankies up for a few hours for a well-earned rest and a cream tea somewhere, preferably in the sun…do you hear that British weather? | ||

| Midsomer Norton Community Festival | ||

| A community festival in Midsomer Norton High Street during the day aimed at family groups, it will run from 11am to 6pm. Priston Jubilee Morris will be performing and possibly running a workshop, so if you’ve ever fancied having a go at Morris dancing, this could be your opportunity! It’s a very good activity for parents and children to get involved in together, so come along and give it a go. | ||

| Address: BH19. At the heart of Swanage Folk Festival are the many dance sides who come from all over the country to perform and entertain and Priston will be there again this year. There will be Cotswold, Border, North-West, Molly, Rapper and Appalacian. Swanage is also lucky to have a few other dance sides outside of the traditional ‘Morris’ that add variety – look out for the belly dancers! | ||

The annual morning dance after the night before… Following on from Priston Cricket Club’s Duck Race through the village, we will join with Bristol Rag, Winterbourn Down, Somerset Morris and Mr Wilkin’s Shilling for something loosely relating to Morris dancing. Soup and rolls will be available in the village hall and the Ring o’ Bells pub will be open. Bemused onlookers and hangovers assured and welcomed. | ||

| Time: 3.00pm. Address: BA2 9EE. It’s mid-January, so it must be the annual Priston Wassail! What better way to beat away the winter blues with some Morris dancing on the village green, followed by the traditional apple-tree ceremony in a local orchard. Revel in the warming mulled cider, make offerings of cider-drenched toast to the trees and plug your ears while shotguns are fired, before partaking of tea and cake in the village hall alongside entertainment in the form of the Priston Mummer’s Play. There’s even talk of a charity raffle where you could win an apple tree of your very own. So come along and join in the fun; it’s all round family entertainment. | ||

| Frome Folk Festival | ||

| Address: BA11 1BE. It is with excitement that Priston will be attending the brand spanking new Frome Folk Festival, alongside many other Morris sides from around and about. We will be starting at the Cheese and Grain and then dancing at Westway Shopping Centre from 11.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 2.00pm alongside Somerset Morris, Bathampton Morrismen, Hips and Haws and Rag Morris. Why not take a look at what’s going to be happening at the Frome Folk Festival – the festival for winter folk! | ||

| Time: 10.00am. Admission: Adults: £1, Under 16s: Free. Address: BA2 0AE. Seedy Saturday is an annual event encouraging local people to save and share their seeds. It also has a wealth of information and advice on growing, local crafts and getting involved at a local level. Priston Jubilee Morris danced alongside Somerset Morris at this event last year and the visitors and traders were so impressed, that they requested the organisers of the event to invite us back! We will be dancing periodically on the stage throughout the event, which is suitable for all. | ||

| Address: BS40 6JE. Venue phone: 01761 221 284. Is there a more traditional way to celebrate our patron saint of St George, by performing a bit of Morris to the unsuspecting public? We thought not, so once again we shall be inflicting our bells, sticks and hankies on the eyes and ears of the innocent. This will be the first of our Diamond Jubilee Tour dance-outs in this Jubilee year and we will be dancing at the wonderful Ring o’ Bells in Compton Martin from 8-ish alongside Somerset Morris and Winterbourn Down Border Morris. | ||

| Time: 5.00am. Address: BA2 9EE. The annual madness of dragging ourselves out of bed and up a muddy hillside to perform to the cows on Pressbarrow Hill, followed by a fry-up in the village hall. As well as trying to avoid the water trough, we also have a recently planted Oak Tree to dance around. Onlookers are welcome, but come prepared with old clothes and sturdy shoes/boots for the hill climb. We’ll be Morris dancing (of course) with friends Somerset Morris, alongside the other attractions of Maypole dancing, funfair, stalls of local produce and crafts, photography competition, ice cream and more! Bring your family and friends for some traditional country fayre. | ||

The annual school fayre for our neighbouring village of Farmborough (and from where many of the side hail) promises to be bigger and better than ever before, with funfair rides, Olympic themed games, races and stalls. The fayre will start with an Olympic style parade through the village followed by an opening ceremony performed by ourselves and the children. If all that’s not enough to tempt you, there will be delicious cream teas and cakes also on sale, as well as hot food and a licensed bar. Come and have an afternoon of fun with all the family! | ||
